Ohio’s ‘House of Horrors’ Investigation Takes a Shocking Turn After Phone Rings Following Final Autopsy

Investigators return to Ohio ‘House of Horrors’ after phone rings just hours after final autopsy – new bombshell evidence discovered

The Ohio House of Horrors investigation has taken a dramatic new turn in the hours after the final autopsy was completed – with police racing back to the scene after a forensic expert made a chilling discovery that was never mentioned in any previous reports.

It was just after 8pm on Tuesday when the last body was laid to rest inside the tiny, dark room of the cramped 12-by-12ft house on Ohmer Street, Vinton County. Sixteen children – ranging in age from 18 months to 18 years old – had been found there in a state of extreme neglect and 𝘢bu𝘴e. Four adults who lived in the home were immediately arrested on child endangerment charges.

The world was told the nightmare was over.

But now, fresh from the coroner’s report, a forensic expert has made a shocking find that has sent shockwaves through the investigation.

A single phone call changed everything.

According to sources close to the case, as soon as the last set of eyes was closed on the final victim, one of the forensic technicians picked up their personal mobile phone to check messages – and what they saw has completely upended the official narrative.

The chilling discovery: a hidden compartment behind a false wall inside the house contained a broken audio recording device, several burned photographs and a metal key that does not fit any of the locks in the entire property.

Police were alerted within minutes.

Officers, forensic teams and detectives immediately returned to the remote, dilapidated home on the edge of Vinton County, Ohio – the same location where the 16 children had been found huddled together in one single room, locked in total isolation from the outside world.

What they found left investigators stunned.

The hidden compartment was tucked behind a loose panel in one of the walls of the tiny living space. Inside: a small, broken audio recorder – the kind used to secretly record conversations for decades. Several photographs had been charred beyond recognition, but the outline of faces could still be made out. And the key – heavy, old-fashioned, and clearly not from the house – sat alone in a small plastic bag.

Investigators believe the evidence points to someone returning to the scene after the children were discovered and the adults were arrested. This “final piece of the puzzle”, as one source described it, “may reveal secrets buried for years”.

The family – mother Elizabeth Siders, 33, father Gary Siders Jr., 36, his father Gary Siders Sr., 73, and mother-in-law Christina Siders, 66 – were all arrested on June 30 following a tip from a social worker who had been visiting the home as part of routine checks. The children had been living in what has become known as the “House of Horrors” for years, according to officials.

Forensic experts have already ruled out any suggestion the kids were “feral” or living wild in the woods. Instead, they described profound isolation, severe developmental delays, and coercive control.

Now the new evidence has raised even more questions.

Who was using the hidden recording device? Why were photographs burned? And where did that mysterious key come from?

The discovery has sparked fresh calls for a full re-examination of the case.

“This is the kind of evidence that can turn a child-endangerment case into something much more serious,” a source told The Daily Mail. “We now need to know exactly what was on that recording device – and who it belongs to.”

The coroner’s office has confirmed the autopsies were completed on all 16 children. While cause of dєatᩚh has not yet been publicly released for each child, the conditions inside the house were described as “deplorable” and “neglectful”.

Vinton County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio Attorney General’s Office are now coordinating with federal experts. The investigation, which began after a 911 call about the children’s condition, is now being treated as a possible homicide in the making – or at the very least, a case with potential links to organised crime or a long-running cover-up.

The 182 Ohmer Street house, which has sat empty since the children were rescued, is being guarded 24 hours a day.

Neighbours described the family as reclusive. “They kept to themselves,” one resident told reporters. “Never saw them going anywhere.”

But the new evidence found tonight suggests the nightmare may not be over.

As the clock ticked past midnight, detectives were still at the scene, sifting through the hidden compartment and preparing to play the contents of the recording device for the first time.

One thing is certain: the Ohio House of Horrors is far from closed.

And the secrets hidden inside those walls may now finally be coming to light.
