Nolan Wells Mystery Takes Another Turn as “Witness” Responds to New Snapchat Questions

Nolan Wells Mystery Takes Another Turn as “Witness” Responds to New Snapchat Questions

New Snapchat records in the Nolan Wells case show deleted messages, while a witness and attorneys dispute what the data means.

The investigation into the dєatᩚh of 18-year-old Nolan Wells has taken another turn after new cellphone and Snapchat findings raised additional questions about what happened during the hours after he was last known to be alive.

A forensic examination commissioned by Wells’ family found that some Snapchat messages associated with his accounts had been deleted. But the available evidence does not establish who deleted them, exactly when the deletions occurred or why.

At the same time, attorneys representing several people who have faced public scrutiny in connection with the case have denied that their clients deleted any messages or had access to Wells’ phone.

What the New Phone Evidence Shows

Andrew Garrett, the forensic examiner hired by Wells’ family, examined the teenager’s cellphone and recovered extensive digital information.

According to reports on the examination, Garrett’s team found that Wells’ phone was last unlocked at approximately 2:17 p.m. on July 4. The device was then locked and later recovered by Wells’ family.

The analysis also identified Snapchat messages that had been deleted or unsent.

However, the forensic findings do not establish that someone physically accessed Wells’ phone and deliberately erased evidence. Garrett has not publicly identified who removed the messages or what prompted the deletions.

That distinction is significant.

A deleted Snapchat message can show that content is no longer available, but by itself it does not prove who removed it, why it was removed or whether the deletion was connected to Wells’ dєatᩚh.

Attorneys for Friends Deny Deleting Messages

Edward Paltzik, an attorney representing Jax Pitalo, Warren Hudson and Morgan Seymour, rejected suggestions that his clients were responsible for deleting messages.

Paltzik told TMZ that the three men did not erase anything and never had access to Wells’ phone.

Another attorney representing people connected to the group also disputed the suggestion that Wells’ friends had physical access to the device.

The response comes after the release of new forensic information that has fueled renewed discussion online about the final hours of Wells’ life.

But the public record currently does not establish that any of the individuals accused online deleted evidence.

What About the “Witness”?

The case has also drawn attention to statements made by people who were with Wells or communicated with him around the time of the July 4 trip.

One witness told investigators about seeing Wells slip awkwardly from the side of a boat that afternoon. The grand-jury report considered that testimony when reviewing the circumstances surrounding Wells’ disappearance.

The report said the fall could not be definitively connected to the bruising later documented on Wells’ head. It also described the injury as nonfatal.

That testimony has become part of the larger debate surrounding what happened on Horn Island.

But a witness account, like the Snapchat data, does not by itself establish how Wells died.

The Grand Jury Found No Criminal Conduct

The new digital information comes after a Jackson County grand jury declined to bring criminal charges in connection with Wells’ dєatᩚh.

The grand jury reviewed testimony from dozens of witnesses as well as cellphone, GPS and other digital evidence. Its report found no credible evidence establishing criminal conduct by the people who traveled to and from Horn Island with Wells.

The panel also said the circumstances were consistent with drowning.

However, that does not mean authorities established drowning as a definitive medical cause of dєatᩚh.

Both the state medical examiner and an independent pathologist retained by Wells’ family listed the cause and manner of dєatᩚh as undetermined.

Why the Snapchat Messages Matter

Wells’ family has continued to argue that important questions remain unanswered.

Their attorneys have highlighted the digital evidence, including the phone’s movements and the deleted Snapchat messages, as part of their request for additional scrutiny.

The family has also questioned the drowning theory because of findings in the autopsy reports, including documented bruising and the absence of fluid in Wells’ airways and stomach.

Authorities and attorneys representing people who were with Wells have pushed back against interpretations suggesting the digital evidence proves wrongdoing.

The central issue remains unresolved: what happened to Nolan Wells after he was last known to be alive?

What Is Confirmed

Several facts are established by the available records:

  • Wells, 18, traveled to Horn Island on July 4 with a group of friends.
  • His body was found two days later.
  • His cellphone was recovered separately from his body.
  • Forensic investigators identified deleted or unsent Snapchat messages.
  • There is no publicly established evidence identifying a specific person who deleted those messages.
  • Attorneys for several people connected to the trip deny that their clients deleted anything.
  • A Jackson County grand jury declined to bring criminal charges.
  • The official and independent autopsies listed the cause and manner of dєatᩚh as undetermined.

What Remains Unclear

The new digital evidence does not answer several central questions.

It remains unclear exactly when the Snapchat deletions occurred, who initiated them and what the deleted material contained.

It is also unclear what, if anything, those deletions have to do with Wells’ dєatᩚh.

Those unanswered questions are why the latest phone findings have generated renewed attention, but they should not be confused with proof of criminal activity.

The Investigation Continues to Draw Scrutiny

Wells’ family has called for continued investigation and greater transparency, while officials have maintained that the grand-jury process found no evidence supporting criminal charges.

The family’s attorneys have also called for federal scrutiny of the case.

Meanwhile, the dispute over the cellphone evidence has created another divide between the family’s legal team and people who were connected to Wells’ July 4 trip.

For now, the deleted Snapchat messages are another piece of evidence under debate — not a definitive explanation for Nolan Wells’ dєatᩚh.

Latest Update

As of Sept. 30, 2026, new forensic findings have confirmed that some Snapchat messages were deleted or unsent, but the available reporting does not establish who removed them or why.

The people represented by Edward Paltzik have denied deleting any messages and said they never had access to Wells’ phone.

The most important unanswered question remains the same: how did Nolan Wells die, and what happened during the final hours before his body was found?

💔 STELLA PARTON BREAKS HER SILENCE — What She Said About Dolly’s Health Has Fans Looking Back

Dolly Parton’s Sister Breaks Silence What Really Happened - GMT - G1

Stella Parton was born May 4, 1949, the sixth of twelve children raised by Robert Lee and Avie Lee Parton in Sevierville, Tennessee — a household defined by noise, limited money, and almost no privacy, the kind of environment that produced strong, determined personalities.

Stella was one of them.

By seven, she was appearing alongside her older sister Dolly on a Knoxville television program; by her teens, she was writing her own songs, though marriage and motherhood pulled music to the margins of her life for a stretch.

The dream never fully disappeared.

Stella Parton

In 1967, she recorded a gospel album with her mother and sisters, and later worked clubs in Washington, D.C., before founding her own record label in 1975 and releasing “I Want to Hold You in My Dreams Tonight,” which climbed to number nine on the country charts.

Long before any of that commercial success, Stella had already shown a willingness to take positions others avoided.

At 26, amid backlash against Australian singer Olivia Newton-John for winning recognition in country music, Stella recorded “Ode to Olivia” in her defense — a stand that offered her no career benefit and real risk of criticism, but one she took anyway simply because she believed staying silent was the wrong choice.

That instinct defined the rest of her career: hits like “The Danger of a Stranger” and “Steady as the Rain” (written by Dolly) built a genuine, independent following, including in the U.K., while Stella also worked in New York theater and spoke openly, often controversially, about poverty, domestic violence, and the treatment of women in the music industry.

She was named the Christian Country Music Association’s Female Vocalist of the Year in 2004.

Through all of it, she remained defined publicly, more often than not, as simply “Dolly’s little sister” — a label she spent five decades quietly proving didn’t tell the full story.

That same directness is why her comments in the fall of 2025 carried real weight.

Stella had never positioned herself as the family’s image manager or spokesperson; she was, by reputation, someone who believed difficult truths shouldn’t stay hidden indefinitely.

What she described wasn’t dramatic or accusatory — it was a portrait of a woman who had spent years prioritizing everyone else’s needs over her own.

The context mattered.

Carl Dean, Dolly’s husband of nearly sixty years, died in March 2025 at 82, after a long illness during which Dolly had devoted herself almost entirely to his care.

She later acknowledged that in the process, she’d neglected her own health significantly.

The loss reverberated through the whole extended family — the Partons had lost three brothers in the years surrounding this period, compounding grief that, for a family that had once crowded twelve children into a single small home, meant losing pieces of a shared childhood one after another.

Stella herself went seven years without releasing new music during this stretch, later describing the period simply as one shaped by sorrow, while still speaking about the importance of finding moments of laughter within it.

Looking back, one moment reads very differently in hindsight than it did at the time: in late September 2025, Dolly postponed her planned Las Vegas residency, citing health challenges — a rare cancellation for a performer whose six-decade career had included very few of them.

At the time, most fans treated it as a minor, temporary setback.

Stella’s later reflections suggested the signs had actually been building for some time, visible to family in ways the public smile made easy to miss.

That concern crystallized publicly not long after, when Dolly’s younger sister Frieda posted a simple request on Facebook asking fans to pray for Dolly.

What looked at first like an ordinary, well-meaning gesture spread rapidly, sparking widespread speculation about how serious Dolly’s condition actually was.

Dolly herself responded directly within days, appearing in a video from a Grand Ole Opry commercial shoot, insisting with her familiar humor that she wasn’t finished yet — the now widely remembered “I ain’t dead yet” moment that briefly quieted public concern.

In the months that followed, the pattern repeated: reassuring updates about kidney stones, dehydration, and treatment, paired with continued work on new projects, right up until Dolly Parton’s death on August 25, 2026, at 80.

Looking back across that full timeline — the postponed residency, the family’s public worry, Stella’s own account of a sister who consistently deprioritized her own wellbeing — it becomes easier to see what the people closest to Dolly understood well before the rest of the world did: that the warmth and resilience the public saw every time she appeared on camera came at a real, largely invisible cost.
